The road is twisted..

Who doesn't love a twisted road? Bend after bend, as you swing and sway, it feels like a symphony playing exclusively for you. The bending sky, the road trying to get intimate with you. Ok, that's enough. You don't want to get too close.

But let's admit it, the joy of riding has one of its roots in the jealousy attached to seeing someone bend their motorcycle, graze their knee and get away with it... In style!

Today morning as I left for a ride to Igatpuri again, I couldn't wait to hit the uphill climb. It manages to thrill me every single time I get onto it. And the interesting part about this particular climb is that it is uneven. It surprises you with a different radius at each turn, putting your riding skills to the test. Add to it some traffic at snail's pace ahead of you all through.

So, after my ten minutes of joy, I wondered what mistakes could one make while bending away to glory.

1. Getting in too fast: You get into a turn too fast and then, the next moment, you're airborne, flying through the ghats. Most people miscalculate their entry speed and hence hit the turn really hard. As a counterattack measure, they do the most instinctive, and stupid thing possible. They jam the brakes while they are at an angle and this sends them skidding. This is obviously not what you had in mind.

2. Getting in too close: Others try to initiate their conquest of the turn from inside out. Wrong move buddy, you want to do exactly the reverse. Get in from a distance and hit it smooth.

3. Uneven throttle control: If you make any of the above mistakes, you're mostly going to be very uneven with your throttle control. Try to keep it steady. It helps.

So, what is the right way to solve this mind bender.

This is what I do, it works for me. Try to figure out your own comfort before you even attempt this.
Enter the turn from a decent distance, downshift the gear to get control, ease into the turn, bend, and as you exit, rev it up smoothly and gradually so that you're accelerating out of the turn. Should there be any lapse, and you start skidding, push the throttle harder. Do not reach for the brake, or decelerate. Go through with the turn.

Else, you will discover that the road has a twisted mind of its own. And it can be quite unforgiving at times.

I have had a lot of problems travelling down very smooth path. So, it is important that you also go for breaking at the appropriate time during any winding road.

In the event that you're looking forward to a very smooth ride, always make sure that you get to know about the conquest. Instead of having to travel down the road, always do so at your own safety and risk. There is no need travelling on an exceptional smooth road, when it is monsoon.

Whenever you're travelling, always make sure that you have the proper equipment. If there are any problems with your biking in between, you should have the machinery to take care of it.

Always take care to carry around the proper riding gear. If not, then it is going to be a very costly mistake. Make sure that the people travelling behind you can actually know about the surroundings and the situation of the road.

The winding road is very good to go, and me along with my friends have actually been travelling with bikes various parts of the country. If there is any monsoon season coming up, then you need to be very careful when travelling.

If you're travelling with a pack, on a winding road, then it is always important that you jam the brakes when it is at an angle. This way, you will be able to get the appropriate traction, which will help you to stop your bike.

When you're looking down on a winding road, always make sure that you get the speed reduced. Any sort of wrong move, and you will not be able to witness any sort of smooth level destination. Instead, you have to move to a hospital.

When you're travelling in a wonderful road, which is full of bends, always make sure that you do so with safety. This way, you will be able to take care of yourself and all the people travelling with you.
